Overview
Losing a large amount of weight — through bariatric surgery, GLP-1 medication or sustained lifestyle change — leaves skin that will not retract. This is not a failure of effort or of skincare; the dermis has been stretched beyond its elastic limit and the only remedy is surgical removal.
These are larger operations than most cosmetic surgery, often staged over twelve to eighteen months, and they require a stable weight for at least six months and adequate protein and iron levels beforehand. We plan the full sequence at the first consultation so you know what the whole journey involves.
